how can paths be crossed

if no cross marks the spot

how can people traverse two lands

if they do not land

how can people introspect

if nothing peeks into the viscera

how can strings pull

if chords do not strike

how can both blossom

if we stand on nothing

and we stand against nothing

how can we be pertinent

if we dont stretch deeply in the depths

if we dont extend horizontally in the horizon

how can footsteps print on concrete

if tides of time dont tick and tock

if we were not part of the worldly hassle and hussle

reality is vicious and viscous

fluctuating between the extremities

even so there exists a step

which assures each fall is not a fall

but something we are falling for
